Vintage Mexican Finds: "Novedades Montecarlo" Loteria Set

There are 35+ versions of Loteria game sets, and Elexia found one of the most unique Loteria sets of the bunch!

Forget about "La Sirena" and "El Diablito"–This particular vintage Loteria set (by Mexican company Novedades Montecarlo) features images that are quite different from your average Loteria:

If I had to put a date on this Loteria set, I'd say sometime around the 19760's or 70's. I just love how unique and colorful these images are from typical Loteria cards!

Britt's Picks: IllustratedInk Loteria Prints

This week, while looking for artwork inspired by those iconic Loteria card images, I stumbled upon the vintage tattoo styled artwork of Etsy artist IllustratedInk. Her work is based on Mexican folk art, and her Loteria prints are super rad:

Mexican Inspired Wedding!

While looking for some bridal shower inspiration on Green Wedding Shoes, I came across this absolutely adorable Mexican inspired wedding!  This lovely couple wanted to incorporate their Mexican heritage without making their wedding feel like it was a "Cinco de Mayo" celebration.  The colors that they used, turquoise, pink, purple and yellow were very festive yet delicate and romantic - perfect for a wedding, birthday or shower!  I'm loving the fact that they used a dresser for their dessert table.  Pick one up at a garage sale or on Craigslist and paint it to coordinate with your own event's colors.  Very budget friendly and definitely unique!  Luckily I am a collector of cake-plates and vintage dishware so the tabletop is literally going to be a piece of cake!  If you are looking for some fun vintage dishware and cake-plates, check out two of my favorite sites, Antiquaria and Sweet and Saucy Supply. Want to know where you can pick up some of the papel picado (paper banners)?  You can buy them here, or make your own personalized banners.  Such a sweet table and perfect for almost any occasion, especially a bridal shower!! Is that pan dulce I spy in the bottom right-hand corner?!?!

I love the backyard feel of this drink table with the mason jars and jarrones (water jugs) for the aguas frescas.  It's just the perfect mix of vintage country chic and traditional Mexican!

How can you make your event special like this bride and groom did?  Incorporate elements and themes that are important to you.  Your guests come to celebrate YOU.  By adding your personal touch to your event they will get to know you better and enjoy your celebration so much more!
