Etsy Craft Party at Casa Artelexia

Last weekend we had our first ever Etsy Craft Party - it was AMAZING!!! What did our day consist of? 4 Craft stations, 4 hours, 30 students, delicious Frida Kahlo cupcake cake by Roni's Sugar Creations and goodie bags!! Tania Fischer taught her super popular DIY paper flower class, Ashley taught us her tips and tricks to modern calligraphy, Carly the paper weaving project and I showed everyone my newly acquired skill of hand carved stamp making. It was like speed dating for crafters. Check it out!

Be Still My Heart

What is one to do when they can't sleep and it's 3:30 in the AM?  Pin, of course!  Especially right now as I gather ideas for the #dlpchairez wedding.  First up on my to do list, invitations.  I really wanted them done by last week and that clearly did not happen.  A DIY was the route I was hoping to take but they just weren't turning out quite as I'd hoped. There was some watercoloring going on, calligraphing and some doodling but nothing was looking like what I was invisioning in my head.  I know a DIY fail when I see one.

Well, anyways no DIY needed because I found these beauties on Etsy via Pinterest.  I am in LOVE.  This very morning I contacted JPstationery and they were super quick to respond.  Pamela has been oh-so-sweet and wonderfully helpful.  ind In 2 weeks we will have our wedding invitations.  Yay! I can't wait!!  Aren't they perfect?!   Invites - check!  Now I need to find some pretty stamps to go along with our lovely invites.  Any suggestions??  #82daystogo

AyMujer! Shop

Yreina Flores Ortiz and her brother Esteban are the talented artists, behind AyMujer, a shop specializing in custom papel picado. Yreina runs the business, and both Yreina and Esteban design and create the papel picado designs. Together they produce unique, festive papel picado pieces for weddings and other celebrations!

Their work has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, the Food Network, Brides UK, and Destination Weddings. Yreina’s work (which she first draws and hand-letters, and then cuts) has been exhibited in the National Museum of Mexican Art and the Palm Springs Art Museum.
