Mexican Illustration

Check out these awesome illustrations by a few of the wonderful Mexican illustrators/designers that exist in the art world. Their work is whimsical and teeming with influence from Mexican art and culture:

Alberto Ceriteno's illustrations are inspired by "urban vinyl toys and the pop surrealism movement", so they're pretty comic-like and goofy–the chubby little Blue Demon isn't looking like his usual fierce self!

Charles Glaubitz is a local artist in Tijuana and professor at San Diego City College. His illustrations here are a colorful tribute to Mexican taco stands.

This week, while looking for artwork inspired by those iconic Loteria card images, I stumbled upon the vintage tattoo styled artwork of Etsy artist IllustratedInk. Her work is based on Mexican folk art, and her Loteria prints are super rad:

Sneak Peek: New Mexican Folk Art at Casa Artelexia

 Hi!  Sorry that I have been MIA.  We received a ton of shipments this week and I have been busy unpacking and pricing.  Finally, our oilcloth is here, and by tomorrow I should have our Alexander Henry Fabrics in.  And did I mention pillows?  Yes, lots of new and super funky pillows to spice up any room!  I have to get back to unpacking but here are a few pics of our new pieces for you to enjoy!  I love, love, love all the colors!   It makes me so happy!  What do you love about Mexican art?  Oh, and by the way, I have a lovely Mexican inspired wedding to share with you tomorrow.  Happy Day to You!!
