Love your shop! Great to finally have a shop like yours in San Diego with such great prices! I would like to see more artist spotlights. Especially on the artists that you get your merch from :)

I love your shop! I would love to see more theme related merchandise according to the time of year. For example it’s the Lenten season Catholics; I would like to see more crosses on display for this season...especially since Mexican tradition and Catholicism are so closely tied together.

Your shop is one of my favorite places to get gifts for people, and things for my home. I just love how warm and friendly you guys are when I come in! I would like to see some books! I'm always looking for interesting Mexican art/culture books to learn from.

@Angela Hi Angela! I am already working on artist spotlights - starting next week I will pick an artist from my group of Facebook Friends and highlight their work. Thanks for the suggestion!

Brianne said...

I love your blog and your shop! I would like to see more inspiration photos for decor and gift ideas.

Artelexia said...

@ Yolanda That is an excellent idea! I didn't even think of highlighting the crosses for Lent. I'll see if I can do a post on crosses in this next week or two. Thank you for the suggestion!

@Lisa Will do! I also plan on documenting my dad's trip to Mexico when he goes on our shopping trips. That's when you will really get to see some traditional work. Thanks for the suggestion!!

@Amanda Thank you so much!! We are definitely working on books. I am also looking to do a few book signings at the store this year. I will let you know when we get the books in. Thanks so much!!

@Brianne That's a good one! I will definitely do some inspiration boards for both gifts and decor. Thanks so much!

You have a great blog. If anything, I would like to see more profiles of artisans. I love to see artists at work.

Gosh, I've still got so much more to read on your site I'm not qualified to make suggestions. I like the suggestions thus far, and adore textiles, so I 2nd that notion ;)

Pretty much anything DotD grabs my heart, year round. I think that is one of the most beautiful ways to honor those who've gone before us: Celebrating!

I have never been to your shop in the person, but LOVE reading your blog! I particularly liked when you featured a bit about your father's direct work with artists in Mexico. I'd love to see more of that!

I really like everything so it's hard to say what I'd like to see more of - perhaps more photos of homes decorated with your things.

As you know my friend Marge and I love, love, love your store. I think we talked about fabric last time I was in and I'd love to see books also. Archectural books on Mexcian building and also decorating. I love the history of everything . We think what you are doing is wonderful and I always find new and interesting items.

I love your store and your blog! I am doing some research on some traditional mexican inspired party themes .... Such as quince's. I loved the blog you did on the mexican inspired wedding's. I would love to see more about the root of why we celebrate certain occasions.

Your shop is a GEM in San Diego. My only humble suggestion would be to have a larger jewelery selection.

I think the power of influence among friends is what would bring success to Casa Artelexia. Meetings once every other week would definetely help improve the flow of traffic (people) in and out of the place. Facebook.. ooh you so powerful! yeah.. so if each one of us offers an hour of their lovely time to send a special message to our friends the reward would come alone. Contests, volunteering and weekly meetings are the key for a successful store like yours. Give a gift today to someone very special. Everybody loves Casa Artelexia, they just do not it yet. Please spread the gospel!

Love your store and I make a point to stop everytime I drop someone off or pick someone up from the airport. Last visit was with my 74 year old Mom who grew up in Nogales, Arizona. She couldn't say enough!
I would like to see some Mexican cookbooks. My two favorites are Rick Bayless's Mexican Kitchen or Diana Kennedy's The Cuisines of Mexico.

Chris said...

Continue doing what you do: Great service, variety, classes, and whatever you fancy. Cooking classes would be cool, or authentic recipes as others have said.

Since my fiance and I have found your shop, we have been anxious to go back for more goodies! Thanks for suggesting the Alexander Henry fabric. I can't wait to get my hands on some for my iPad covers! Anyway, I'd love to see a few tutorials! Even if it's something small. (like making a basic sugar skull) I also agree with everyone on the Artist spotlights. Thanks!
