If you were
at Casa Artelexia on a Saturday about two months ago and found yourself wandering
into the back of the store, you probably witnessed (and were very curious
about) some very talented and crafty designers running in and out of the large
curtains covering our art gallery.
Behind the curtains, the Sitting in a Tree Events team was preparing the scene for “Runaway: A Pop-Up Wedding”: a small, one-time wedding event on May 26th where five different couples were each married, one by one, right here in the Casa Artelexia gallery! The space transformed into a bohemian haven, with garland strung across the ceiling, ferns and plants in every corner, ottomans and floor pillows to sit on, and tinted glass dishware for drinks and appetizers.
The bride and groom were each whisked away to the wedding venue (Casa Artelexia!) in a rad Volkswagen bus that read "let's run away". Each wedding included a flower crown or bouquet for the bride, professional photography, a guitarist to play whatever song the bride wanted as she walked down the aisle, food and drinks, and a real wedding ceremony to top it all off.
The event
was put on by a slew of talented designers, event planners and photographers
including Rad + In Love, Pitbulls and Posies, Bloem Hill, A Miho Experience,
Sitting in a Tree, and the Hostess Haven. Each ceremony lasted about 30
minutes, and the happy couples were able to mingle with friends and family and dine
on small gourmet appetizers in the Casa Artelexia gallery-turned-bohemian waiting area after the ceremony.
